(What’s not a shitpost but feels like a shitpost? This post.)
So, we all know that certain holidays come with well-known traditions--opening presents on Christmas, hunting for colored eggs on Easter, eating a stupid amount of food for Thanksgiving (at least that's what we do in America). In the interest of chatting about something cheerful, let’s say that we, as a fandom, were going to create our own traditions for celebrating Ateez comeback anniversaries like they’re holidays. What activities should we do to mark each release?
Please allow me to begin this very necessary conversation by making a few modest suggestions.
Fireworks: March 1 (“Bulnoriya”)
Option 1: Obviously, set off fireworks (Pros: stylish, good marketing | Cons: bad for wildlife, permits likely required, possibly illegal in some states/territories/countries/etc.) Option 2: Light sparklers (Pros: easy, less expensive | Cons: not super exciting) Option 3: Travel to an alternate dimension (Pros: exciting, major scientific discovery | Cons: directions unclear, chances of getting lost in space/time = high)
Wave: June 10 (“Hakuna Matata Ya”)
Option 1: Go to the beach (Pros: beach = relaxing (theoretically) | Cons: difficult for those who are land-locked; beaches probably crowded; sand everywhere) Option 2: Take a nap (Pros: easy, comfortable | Cons: not Instagramable) Option 3: Take a sofa to a skate park (Pros: highly Instagramable | Cons: Requires truck. And sofa. And skatepark.)
Answer: January 6 (“Geonbaehaja Like a Thunder” or just “Geonbaehaja” for short)
Option 1: Get drunk and dance on a table (Pros: probably hilarious | Cons: illegal for minors, possibility of injury = high) Option 2: Dance on a table while completely sober (Pros: legal for minors, accessible for non-drinkers, less chance of injury | Cons: risk of embarrassment = high) Option 3: Confront your inter-dimensional alter-ego (Pros: send your doppelgänger to work for you = every day is a vacation | Cons: none whatsoever, zero problems detected) So, what are your comeback holiday celebration suggestions?
(No, but I seriously think it would be fun to have fandom-wide traditions for comeback anniversaries. I’m pretty sure I have some sparklers in the kitchen that I will be lighting up tonight. I may also just celebrate that this day is over because gracious.)
Anyways, happy Bulnoriya, everybody!
