It's Monday, and that means it's time for a fresh, tailor-made, ATEEZ-centered playlist to start your week right.
Every year, my friends and I each pick our own word to be our word for the year. I believe one of my friends got the idea from a podcast, but sadly I don't know which podcast and thus cannot give credit where credit is due. Last year, my word was sun, and it brought a lot of needed warmth and light into my life, so when it came time to pick my word for 2024, I wanted something that would also help me through this year.
And the thing I kept coming back to was this rose bush that we have in our back yard. It's pretty incredible in that we have never once taken care of it and it just grows and grows and grows. It also has the most beautiful and fragrant purple colored roses. So I chose rose.
And then, in a sheer coincidence, one of my friends picked lavender. And then because the universe understands me, the first Nacific x ATEEZ collab is called Flowering Day.
So I don't care that it's the first week of January--it's time for flowers. 2024 is the year of flowers.
playlist highlights
Orange Flower (You Complete Me) - Enhypen
I find this song very catchy and light. I'm not entirely sure what orange flower means in the context of this song, but we have an orange tree and the orange flowers are so beautiful, and the scent fills our whole backyard when it's in bloom.
A Heart of Sunflower - Dreamcatcher
This song is very different vibe than Orange Flower. It's more like a ballad, and it has that beautiful building quality that I tend to love in ATEEZ's songs. And for a long time, sunflowers were my favorite flower.
ROSE - EDEN, SONG JU HEE
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Eden has a song entitled Rose (he also had a song entitled The Sun btw because no one understands me like Eden). This song is so plucky sounding. I don't know how else to describe it. It reminds me of Ratatouille, which I know is wild, and Ratatouille reminds me of being in line for the Ratatouille ride at Disney World, which weirdly brings me a lot of happiness.
What's your favorite song with flowers? Do you have a word to guide you into the new year?
May everything be sunshine and roses, and may the year bloom into something beautiful for you.
