Music Mix for saying farewell to summer

It's Monday, and that means it's time for a fresh, tailor-made, ATEEZ-centered playlist to start your week right.

Whether you are ready for it or not--and whether your weather realizes it or not--summer is coming to a close in a few short weeks. I've mentioned, oh maybe a dozen times at this point, that I'm a teacher, so this means that I'm long past my summer vacation. At the time that I'm actually writing this post, I'm getting ready for my first day back at school. So I've pulled together a mix to gently help me through this transition from the carefree days of summer to the busy days of fall.

playlist highlights

Morning Star - SUHO

There's something about this song that reminds me of Journey? I can't put my finger on exactly what. But it also gives me the feeling of new beginnings. It's refreshing and somehow soothing.

A Fairy Tale of Youth - Jong Ho

I have very specific memories of lying on the beach during a quick weekend getaway and holding my phone to my ear, straining to hear this song via clips on Twitter (RIP) because we hadn't yet been told Jongho had done an OST and we weren't sure yet that it was him. Excellent and good times. I'd love another surprise OST.

Still Here - Korean Version - ATEEZ

Still Here is and always has been gorgeous and I'm not here for arguments. But what I love about the Korean version is the absolutely necessary addition of Mingi's rap verses in the outro. It reminds me that there's always room for the things we love. Sometimes you just have to be flexible to make it work.

So whether you are sad to release the summer or so ready for autumn to take over, I hope these songs give you comfort or joy or peace or whatever it is you need from this season in your life.

Have a most excellent week.
