Welcome back to our One Day at a Time series in which we count down to ATEEZ's fifth anniversary! As part of our special giveaway event, you can comment on each post for an additional entry into the giveaway being held on Instagram. If you want your comment to count as an entry, make sure to include your Instagram username in your comment.
It's happened to the best of us.
One day, you're going around, living a completely normal and sane life and the next you're neck deep in Spin Off albums because one of them includes a PC with Jongho holding a bear.
If you, like us, have found yourself in possession of far more albums than you could possibly need, perhaps you'd appreciate some ideas for how to creatively repurpose them. For your convenience, we've organized these crafts from least to most intensive.
level 1: blackout poetry
It's not just a creative assignment for your freshman English class, it's actually a chill and relaxing exercise for really internalizing and becoming one with the diaries.
For those unfamiliar with blackout poetry, all you do is choose the words and phrases you want to keep and black out the rest. The rules are. . . there are no rules. Do whatever you want. You may just surprise yourself with the poem you create. And perhaps you will unlock some mysteries of the ACU.
level 2: pc frame
I made this little frame using the insides of several Fever Epilogue and Spin Off albums that I was breaking down for other reasons. It is covered in scrapbook paper, but I have also made versions that use leftover book cloth (fabric with a paper backing for making book covers). Some of those other versions also included stands to hold the frame upright, and I've also considered adding magnets to the back for top tier fridge decor.
The frame features a little slot at the top so that you can easily switch out the PC. Those more artistic and creative than I am might be brave enough to paint their frames or go nuts with some stickers.
level 3: journals
Every time I get my hands on a new album, I like to play a game called "Can it journal?" in which I take a thing that definitely is not a journal and turn it into a thing that is.
Sometimes it's a pretty simple process that involves just taking the original cover and sewing in some signatures. Other times, it gets a bit more complicated and requires a lot of cutting and glue and bookbinding tape. The results are varied, but the process is always fun.
The downside is I've gone from drowning in albums to drowning in albums and journals.
level 4: paper
Last spring, GD was well on her way to becoming the World's Greatest Paper Maker. She has since moved on to becoming the World's Greatest Stop Motion Animator, but I have faith she'll return to her paper making ways someday.
Making paper is a multi-step process that involves turning your waste paper into pulp, mixing it with water into a slurry, and fishing up thin layers of the pulp onto a mould and deckle. You then use a towel of some sort to remove the excess water and then hang your paper up to dry. You can also add dyes to your water for colored paper if you like.
GD sent me a couple sheets of her paper. It has a really pleasing soft texture. Though it's not as crisp as regular paper, you can still write on it. It would be perfect for journaling, scrapbooking, or other art projects (though FYI, I recommend using a "drier" glue like a glue stick or tape rather than PVA because it doesn't handle moisture well).
Some of us are expecting The Announcement any day now. In the meantime, do let us know if you have other ideas for creative album repurposing. We're getting a little antsy and could maybe use some new projects to pass the time.
I love this article, and I always appreciate how creative and crafty this fandom is! I’m definitely trying the pc frame and journal crafts soon!! IG: destiny.hwa
I too hate waste and do everything in my ability to use all parts of the buffalo. Since I sell any inclusion is fair game as a freebie. I have also used empty boxes and even photobooks as shipping containers. Extra CDs from Outlaw? That envelope turns it into a recycled PC protector. I’m about to embark on my first destructive project with a few extra albums and create fancy (-er) backing boards for PCs as so many sellers & buyers are abandoning plastic toploaders. I plan to cut up album books and wrap the boards. I realize this is a level 1 ( or even 0) project but I am not crafty at all and the thought of c…
These are great ideas! On thing I loved that you did was using a page from the album as envelopes for PCs! So smart!

I’m so glad you posted this!! I’m seriously all about repurposing and I hate waste—there are so many albums I have to utilize and I love each of these ideas 🥺
I had no idea there was a whole blog; im super grateful for the link!!
I love the frame you made! I will have to try that! I have no actual creative cool ideas for what to do with the albums. I usually just use them for card-making. But I saw someone make some cool collage pages for their pc binders which I plan to try!
