It's Wednesday, and that means that we're here to personally recommend some of our favorite ATEEZ videos. So, whether you're just getting into ATEEZ or it's been awhile since you've let yourself sit back and enjoy their content, we've got you covered.
It has finally happened. The next comeback has finally been announced. Speculations are running wild, of course, but the one that I am most attached to is that The World Ep.Fin will be a full album (it has to be, right???). Full or not, we now know that this album is not a special project or spin off; it falls directly into the lore of The World.
So, we must prepare ourselves by reviewing what we know and what we think we know.
Spin Off: From the Witness
While FtW is not technically part of The World, being a spin off and all, I do think it's important to keep in mind as we mentally and spiritually prepare for Will. Especially since some Atinys theorize that Blue Bird is a track on the new album. I personally believe that Halazia is a prequel to the World series, so I'm including it. Also, you can't stop me.
Of note is the fact that Hwa finds his Be Free bracelet in Strictland and in the Outlaw journals we learn that Be Free Girl exists in the other dimension as well.
Also, if Will has a track called Blue Bird and it includes that gorgeous and haunting violin from the Epilogue, we will have peaked and I don't know how anything could be better.
The World Ep.1 : Movement
I feel it is important to point out here that typically, the MVs don't strictly follow the narrative as laid out in the diaries. Rather, the MVs symbolically or figuratively depict the settings or vibes or themes of the journals. I don't think it's quite right to say that the MVs have their own separate lore, but they do have some imagery that crosses MV boundaries that isn't necessarily present in the diaries. So make of that what you will.
That said, Guerrilla is definitely ATEEZ's most literal MV. It's not entirely 1:1, but it pretty clearly tells the story of their escapades in Strictland.
There are a lot of things to love about TW1, but I think one of my favorite details is that Yeosang uses his talent for the violin--the symbol of his parents' restrictions in his home world--to help liberate this new world.
Another detail I love is that their hideout is so similar visually to the warehouse we meet in Fever 1 diary but this one has been filled with reclaimed artwork. The world building here is truly stellar.
The World Ep. 2 : Outlaw
Compared to TW1, Outlaw gives us very little lore to work with visually. Bouncy, and all its related videos, are definitely more symbolic, picturing the boys teaming up for undercover operations and an eventual Prestige Academy infiltration, when the only thing that actually happens in the diary is that they do go to Prestige and blend in as students, at least for a while. Still, I've included all the lore-related videos for vibes.
I was just telling GD earlier that if they release track teasers super early in the promo period like they did with Outlaw, I simply won't be able to handle it. I went absolutely mad trying to listen to the teasers just enough to satisfy my urges but not enough to make me tired of the songs. But it is fun to look back and compare how I thought I would feel about the tracks to how I ended up feeling once I could hear the entire songs.
We can of course also surmise that a song from Will will include the instrumental snippet we get at the end of Bouncy.
There we go. Do you feel prepared? Where do you think the story will go next? For your convenience, you can find the entire playlist here.
